This project was a fix for my roommate from a few years ago. The display backlight inverter cable severed, so his display backlight no longer worked. I managed to use some Christmas light wire to solder good ends of the display cable and reassemble the laptop with this patched wire to make it live once more.

I chose Christmas light wire as it was the only wire we had available at the time that was designed for being abused a lot, which I hoped meant it should be able to survive many display opens and closes without fail.

I was right, it lasted much longer! Take a look!
